What is a proxy vote?
A written authorization letting another person vote for an owner at a meeting. A directed proxy says how to vote; a general proxy leaves it to the holder.
Also called proxy, HOA proxy form.
In Havn
Havn runs votes inside the owner portal with proxies, paper ballots by code, reminders, and results sealed until the vote closes.
VotingProxies let a community reach quorum and decide things when owners cannot attend. The form names the owner, the home, the proxy holder, the meeting, and whether the holder must vote a certain way. State law and the bylaws say how long a proxy lasts and whether it can be used for elections at all: several states require secret ballots for director elections and bar proxies for them.
Absentee ballots and electronic voting are different from proxies: the owner casts the vote directly, in advance or online, rather than delegating it.
