What is a bylaws?
The association's operating rules as a corporation: how the board is elected, how meetings are called, what counts as a quorum, and who may do what.
In Havn
Meeting notices, ballots, and proxies in Havn follow the notice and quorum rules the board enters once in Settings.
Votes, meetings, and the calendarBylaws govern the association as an organization rather than the land. They set the number of directors and their terms, how elections and meetings run, notice periods, quorum, the officers and their duties, and how the bylaws themselves are amended. They are usually not recorded, though some states require it.
Bylaws answer most procedural questions a board faces: can we vote by email, how many days of notice does the annual meeting need, can a director be removed. Where the bylaws are silent, the state's nonprofit corporation act or community association statute usually fills the gap.
