What is a board packet?
The set of reports a board reads before its meeting: the financial statements, the delinquency list, open violations and requests, bills awaiting approval, and the agenda.
In Havn
Havn assembles the board packet from the ledger, the collections list, violations, requests, and payables, as a PDF for the meeting date.
Reports and the board packetA good packet lets a volunteer director arrive knowing the balance sheet, the budget variance, who is behind, what is waiting for a decision, and what the manager recommends. It goes out several days before the meeting, and the minutes refer back to it.
Packets used to be assembled by hand from several systems. The point of running the community on one record is that the packet comes out of it.
